Guided Montana Archery Elk Hunts

Guided Montana Archery Elk Hunts

Guided Bow Hunting Trips for Elk in Montana: Our private bow hunting elk leases are spread out to cover several resident elk herds. September can be an amazing time to take in what Montana has to offer and give you the best chance to harvest rutting bulls on a archery elk hunting trip. We normally take 2 hunters per guide unless a group of 3 recommends to hunt together. We have the flexibility to adjust to what's going on and we'll use several hunting techniques during your weeks hunt. The typical set up and calling method to lure rutting bulls into bow range is the most popular method. We also have tree stands and ground blinds, both natural and artificial set over water sources and game trails. This method can be very successful while bulls are tight lipped and not responding to calling. We also offer tree stand or ground blind hunts between bedding and feeding in the vast river valley's loaded with private agricultural fields of alfalfa, barely, oats, and wheat. Combining several tactics during a weeks hunt to adjust to the elk have proven to provide our clients with the best chance for success on your Montana private land archery elk hunt.

September Archery Elk Hunts, Bow Hunting the Rut: We are located in SW Montana in the Shield's River valley and surrounding foothills of the Crazy Mountains and into Paradise Valley on the North end of the Absaroka Mountains. The peak elk breeding activity is observed around September 21st on our private properties. Some of the private lands your guided elk hunt will take you on is our timbered mountain terrain dotted with clear cuts with water, bedding, and food sources. Other private properties include lower elevation open prairie lands with brushy creeks, Spruce choked draws, timbered ridges, or Cottonwood & Aspen filled river bottom's all loaded with irrigated agricultural fields that offer excellent transition areas for bow hunters trying to ambush, or call in raging bulls in September. We'll utilize all our resources to get you your opportunity at a bull elk during your Montana elk hunt with us. Private property in multiple locations throughout Region 3 allows us to archery hunt several key resident elk herds that can often times mean higher shot opportunities for our elk hunters. Imagine yourself smack in the middle of a herd of elk trying to remain calm as bulls bugling, echo through the majestic Montana landscape around you reveal their locations, and they're getting close, real close! Booking your hunt during the elk rut makes for some truly exciting bow hunting. The last two weeks in September are generally good for archery elk hunts during peak breeding activity here in Montana.

Early September and early October Montana elk hunts that book end the peak breeding. These can be just as successful hunting on our private agricultural lands and over water sources and game trails. These elk are resident herds that use our properties regularly due to the large agricultural presence and private land tranquility.
